Our Founder/Principal

Steve Markey is the Principal of nControl, a consulting firm based in Philadelphia. Steve also runs the Delaware Valley (Greater Philadelphia) chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). He has over ten (10) years of experience in the technology sector and has served as a: Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), IT Project Manager, and Senior Consultant. His industry experience includes: Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Financial Services, Legal, Insurance and Business Services.

Mr. Markey frequently presents on various topics, such as: information privacy, cloud computing, process improvement, project management, eDiscovery, Cloud Information Lifecycle Management (CILM), social media/networking and program development. His previous speaking engagements include: SecureWorld Philadelphia, the annual CSA Congress, the annual RSA Conference, and various smaller engagements at Drexel University. He also has served, or presently serves, on various workgroups for Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), such as: the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), CSA, Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE).

Steve presently holds several certifications, to include: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), and he also has a Symantec Technical Specialist (STS) designation for their Enterprise Vault product. Steve is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and holds degrees from Drexel University and The Citadel.
